The second episode of the INTEURO podcast is dedicated to studying in Poland and the everyday life of international students. The conversation shows what the university admission process, starting studies in a new country and finding your place in the Polish academic environment can look like in practice.
Our podcast guest is Maria Merezhko – a Logistics student at Kielce University of Technology, originally from Dnipro. She shares her own experiences of choosing a university, going through the admission process, learning Polish and spending her first months as a student in Poland.
The conversation covers, among other things, the following topics:
- admission of international students to universities in Poland,
- the importance of Polish language skills for studying and everyday life,
- the possibility of applying for the Rector’s Scholarship,
- accommodation conditions and everyday life in a student dormitory,
- the assessment system and examination sessions,

- avoiding the so-called “language bubble” and building relationships with Polish students.

Maria also talks about the importance of being active outside classes, meeting new people and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the university. Her experience shows that integration into the academic community can make learning the language easier, increase independence and help students adapt to a new environment.
